Preschool Child Care
Building Strong Foundations
The Y mission of building strong kids, families, and communities starts with our youngest Y-members! The YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties recognizes the importance of quality early child care and education. Our programs are values-based and use HighReach Learning early childhood curriculum to impact academic performance and social and physical development, while building a foundation for a lifetime of healthy living. Through child care at the Y, children learn and grow to find a successful start in kindergarten and beyond.
YMCA Teacher Standards
We hold our staff to the highest standards. Each lead teacher is required to have a minimum of a Child Development Associates credential. All full time staff must receive 12 credit hours of training per year in order to work in our program and are certified in First Aid & C.P.R.

HighReach Learning
- All Y Early Child Care programs use the HighReach Learning early childhood curriculum. The HighReach Learning Curriculum approach is a developmental program that gives kids an introduction to education and prepares them with skills needed in kindergarten and beyond. HighReach combines activities children love, like singing, creating, story telling and more into both fun and educational experiences.
- Teachers and children engage in supportive and encouraging learning interactions
- Hands-on explorations create new learning connections in language, math, science, social/emotional and physical development
- Teachers encourage children to communicate and use language skills
- Each class covers a daily curriculum, where children actively learn something new everyday
